International Experiences

  1. Has worked and visited over 70 countries in his life (and still climbing).
  2. Has worked extensively with over 200 chief executives on many different continents—North and South America, Asia, Australia, Middle East, Europe, India.
  3. Has delivered his popular Systems Thinking ApproachTM to Strategic Management public seminars and keynoting in many of the same global countries and continents—over 1,300 CEO attendees.
  4. Is President and Founder of the Haines Centre for Strategic Management®; an international consulting firm with 38 offices in the United States, Canada, and Internationally (20 countries).
  5. Has established the Centre’s relationships with many global partners such as Argentina and Mercusor (six countries), Australia, Israel, Turkey, South Africa, United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council (six countries), Singapore, India, Korea, Japan, Europe, etc. He and the Centre members train, certify, and work with them regularly as they are literally building a global consulting and training organization.
  6. Has visited and/or worked in over 70 countries around the globe so far, with the number increasing yearly due to work and pleasure, as he also continues to vacation internationally with his wife, Jayne, each year.
  7. Has consulted extensively across Canada for over 25 years in many public and private sectors, for over 10 years as an external consultant, and before that as a senior internal consultant for Sunoco, an international oil company.
  8. Was a vice president of Sun International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunoco with offices in United States, Canada, Japan, and all across Europe.
  9. Has consulted and given keynote speeches over the past 25 years, both nationally and internationally.
  10. Is a United States Naval Academy graduate with a minor in foreign affairs, including a summer spent in Japan and Asia.
  11. Was trained as a Vietnamese Naval Advisor and served on a United States Navy ship deployed to Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. Worked extensively with Filipinos in the United States Navy for three and one-half years.
  12. Was trained in both the French and Vietnamese languages at different times in his life. Was conversant in Tagalog (Filipino) as well.
