Master Consultant and Trainer Biography

Stephen G. Haines is not only highly experienced as a senior executive in large corporations, but also has the extensive research and education of an academic and the entrepreneurial spirit of successfully starting up his own firm (Haines Centre for Strategic Management ®). The Centre enhances the leadership capabilities of senior executives to create and sustain highly effective, customer-focused organizations. This is accomplished by jointly customizing our Systems Thinking Approach TM for resolving their difficult and complex issues.
As a master in the field, Steve has been leading, teaching, and facilitating numerous different strategic consulting and training projects and programs since 1971 when he was selected to be the “Human Goals Coordinator” for the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, his alma mater. He has been fortunate to have been mentored by and learned from most of the masters in the fields of planning, management, and human resource/organization development.
Also, Steve was president and part owner of University Associates Consulting & Training Services (“the world’s premier developer of human resources practitioners and their organizations). As such, he was a master traineri.e., lead trainer for public seminars across North America as well as in-house lead consultant, course developer, trainer, and developer of other trainers/facilitators.
His formal consulting and training education includes a vast array of learning experiences that lead to his being a master consultant and a master trainer. He has a divers in-depth mastery of both “process” and business “content expertise” in each of the Centre’s practice areas.

U.S. Navy Training and Education
- 1968 U.S. Naval Academy graduate, Annapolis Maryland (B.S. in Engineering with a minor in Foreign Affairs).
- 1972 Graduate of a “Human Response” course (four weeks) Vallejo, California (part of his graduation from the Navy’s six months Vietnamese Advisor/cross-cultural training course.
- 1973 Graduate D.O.D. “Human Goals Institute” (13 weeks), Patrick Air Force Base, Florida.
- 1973 Graduate U.S. Navy “Racial Awareness Facilitator Training (RAFT) (four weeks), Memphis, Tennessee.
- 1974 Designed and ran a USNA RAFT school to train other trainers, USNA, Annapolis, Maryland.

- 1975 Masters degree in Organizational Behavior with a minor in Financial Management.
